CONCORD — More than 270 Concord-Carlisle High School seniors recently took part in the annual Prifti Day of Service, spending a day supporting local organizations, schools and community groups in honor of beloved former art teacher David Prifti.

The Prifti Day of Service serves as a tribute to David Prifti, a longtime Concord-Carlisle High School art teacher who passed away in 2011.

Each year, members of the graduating class participate in service projects throughout the community as a way to honor his legacy and give back.

On May 22, students from the Class of 2026 completed a variety of projects across Concord and Carlisle, including campus cleanups and groundskeeping work at local schools, gardening and weeding at town buildings and senior residences and invasive plant removal efforts in partnership with the Town of Concord.

Students also volunteered with local organizations, including Household Goods and Concord PossAbilities, and returned to elementary schools to assist teachers with classroom activities and crafts.

Students also participated in several outreach efforts, writing more than 200 letters to first responders and military personnel, creating 75 cards for children receiving care in hospitals and preparing appreciation notes for Concord-Carlisle High School faculty and staff.

“The Prifti Day of Service continues to be one of the most meaningful traditions for our senior class because it gives students an opportunity to make a positive impact in the communities that have supported them throughout their lives,” said Hanna Bruno, a teacher and coach at CCHS who organizes the event. “Our students embraced the spirit of service, whether they were helping at local schools and organizations, beautifying community spaces or writing messages of appreciation and encouragement.”

The event was organized with support from the Concord-Carlisle High School Class Government and community partners throughout Concord and Carlisle.

“The Prifti Day of Service is a wonderful tradition that gives our seniors an opportunity to make a positive impact while honoring the memory of a teacher who cared deeply about this community,” said Superintendent Dr. Laurie Hunter. “We are grateful to the many organizations and community partners who welcomed our students and helped make the day such a success.”
